On June 26, 2017, Alexander Sysoyev, Interlegal client relationship manager, participated in the A?95 Consulting Group new forum – Black Sea petroleum trading 2017, held in Odessa.

Similar forum was held in Odessa for the first time. The event gathered traders and suppliers of oil and light/dark oil products, air fuel and liquefied hydrocarbon gas. Apart from traders, the conference delegates included also representatives of USPA and correlated industries: handling capacity owners, land and sea fuel transportation service providers, storage base owners and operators, brokers, surveyors, ship agents, insurance companies, representatives of special media resources and many others.

Speakers showed high professional level and keen understanding of the oil product market processes. Themes of their reports were aimed at understanding today oil product market trends both in Ukraine and worldwide. Special attention was drawn to the role of Ukraine in Black Sea Region oil product flow market. Forum organizers highlighted the important strategic role of oil product supply by sea in order to secure power safety of Ukraine. This alternative often prevented lack of power resources in Ukraine. It secures market sound condition and competitiveness of Ukraine.

Discussion touched the problems regarding specifications of the oil product customs clearance, tariff regulation issues and special, sometimes prejudiced, mass media attention to the fuel market.

In general, despite decrease in oil product transit from Russia, market players showed a sound optimism in market development and cargo flow recovery, in order to engage today oil handling capacities more effectively.
