The 10th Black Sea Container Summit was held in Odessa on September 7-9, 2016. It gathered over 160 participants from the container industry of Ukraine, Romania, Georgia and other Black Sea countries. Discussion concerned mainly the issues of activity renewal in the Ukrainian container industry after decrease in cargo turnover due to 2008 economic crisis and 2014 political crisis. Vladimir Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Mikheil Saakashvili, the Odessa Region Governor, representatives of customs offices, USPA, port terminals, stevedore and forwarding companies participated in discussion of vital challenges for the industry.

Container handling growth in the Ukrainian sea ports by 25% for the first half 2016 was probably the key figure at the summit. Ukraine came out on top again in the Black Sea Region.

Interlegal representatives – Artem Skorobogatov, the associated partner, and Mikhail Kudinskiy, the business development manager, participated in the summit. Interlegal expresses gratitude to the “Ports of Ukraine” Publishing House and the Centre for Information and Analytics “BlackSeaTrans” for top-level organization of the jubilee Container Summit.
