Interlegal experts Rachid Bouda, Mikhail Kudynskyi and Natalya Berezova participated in the Аgro-logistics forum “Dnieper-Danube-Black Sea” held on August, 22, in Nikolayev and organized by APK-Inform Agency.
Over 100 delegates, representing nearly 90 state authorities, companies and industrial organizations from 8 countries, participated in the forum.

Experts discussed the Black Sea Region grain market current status and development prospects, with regards to its growing impact on global grain market functioning.
The event got focused on development problems in the Southern Ukraine, in particular in Nikolayev and Kherson Regions.

Viktor Sokha, the Director of Dnipro Cargo Limited, noted, “This region occupies large territories facilitating the above sea port development, with small loading as compared to the Great Odessa sea ports. But in the long-term prospect we will have to settle the issue of dredging”.

At the same time he highlighted several problems which may arise in the process of this strategy performance. He added, “Neither Kherson nor Nikolayev are suitable for dredging, while Ochakov has no railway passages; therefore river carriage development and dredging projects are crucial for this sea port. In future, Kherson and Ochakov sea ports may be linked together due to cargo handling by barges”.

On the second day, the delegates visited the river and sea port infrastructure facilities in Nikolayev Region.
