Interlegal – general partner of the ELSA International Summer School on Maritime Law

Interlegal was a general partner of the ELSA International Summer School on Maritime Law held in Odessa on August, 6 – 13. Students from 8 countries participated in the event.

Interlegal senior lawyer Andrey Perepelitsa had a welcome speech for students. Interlegal lawyers also participated actively in the school lectures. Olena Ptashenchuk made a presentation about types of charter parties and their commercial use, while Mikhail Selivanov told about ship arrest practice in the Black Sea Region.

The school combined both theory and practice. Participants got knowledge in the international public maritime law, international private maritime law and international ecological maritime law.

The school was followed by moot court under which participants could apply their skills obtained in theoretical section. Interlegal lawyers Mikhail Selivanov and Anna Averina participated in moot court as arbitrators considering the case from Interlegal practice.

The parties to arbitration proceedings were four teams which consisted of students from various countries. Teams had a serious approach to case consideration and provided their arguments in details. As the result, all the participants to moot court performed their task successfully and showed a perfect skill level. Also two best speakers were chosen under the results of training arbitration proceedings.
