On Monday, 22.02.2016, at the World-Wide club of Odessites, Konstantin Ilnitskiy, President of the Maritime Journalist Association of Ukraine (MJAU) and author of the idea, presented in public a new book “Maritime Journalism in Persons and Texts”. The book includes maritime journalists’ works written by 34 authors, members of MJAU. It is the first completed project of the startup association.

Arthur Nitsevych, partner of Interlegal, contributed to the first collection the article Sea Transportations in Future. This article was published for the first time in the journal «Sea Review» – 2014, - No.3. It highlights the freight market development prospects and the most important trends in sea carriages arising due to the launch of mega-vessels. Special attention is paid to marine casualties which may serve as an example both for those who develop navigation safety measures and regulations and for those who implement them in the process of routine work.

Official part of presentation of the first collection of maritime journalistic works was followed by open discussion in which all the volunteers could speak, because freedom of thought and speech is the main guideline for professional journalists. All the speakers touched quite complex and vital issues, such as: which real actions MJAU may take in respect of saving the Odessa Navy Museum, how to eternize memory of famous people in maritime industry of Ukraine and how to make up a new journal which would be interesting to everyone. Such enthusiasm of masters of maritime journalism could discourage even young authors. But we hope that young authors will treat it as a source of inspiration. We have plenty of shot in the locker, so if maritime journalists unite together, they can do much. We should only wish to them good luck in all their endeavors. Fair winds and a following sea to MJAU!

Arthur Nitsevych, as author and member of MJAU, and the whole Interlegal team express gratitude to the Publication Center “Ports of Ukraine” and to Konstantin Ilnitskiy personally for their works and express firm belief that the first collection “Maritime Journalism in Persons and Texts” will not be the sole publication but will give a rise to the whole cycle of interesting publications.
