Round Table on transit fumigation safety on board of vessels

On 15.05.2017 the Round Table on transit fumigation safety on board of vessels was held in Odessa, organized by the All-Ukrainian Public Organization “Fumigation Association” under the auspices of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

In the framework of long-term cooperation with the Fumigation Association, Interlegal became the round table legal partner.

Interlegal partner Natalya Myroshnychenko and lawyer Mikhail Selivanov participated in the event.

Fumigation companies, grain traders, freight forwarders and officials of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Ukraine were present at the round table.

Participants discussed the following vital issued: transit fumigation procedure and its regulatory framework, fumigation state control system, fumigation security under shipments, organizational and technical support of actions aimed at fumigation.

Interlegal delegates presented the report “Legal issues upon organizing transit fumigation at the Ukrainian sea ports”.

The report touched issues of national and international regulatory framework in respect of transit fumigation, the concept of fumigated unit as hazardous cargo, rights and obligations of persons engaged in fumigation, state regulation and control over fumigation on board of vessels.
