The Summary of the Transporting Year 2012

On the 6^th of December 2012 The International Law Offices Interlegal held its fifth anniversary event The Summary of the Transporting Year 2012.

 

Attending such event by the clients of Interlegal has become an old tradition of December which associates with first snow, frost, waiting for Christmas and New Year. Joy, elite drinks and New Year Tree are meeting the guests.

 

The partners of The Summary were the Association of Container Lines of Ukraine, Marine Broker Club of Ukraine, Nautical Institute of Ukraine.

 

This year nearly forty field representatives – guests, clients and good friends of Interlegal – gathered in Lavinia.

 

Artem Skorobogatov, the associate partner of Interlegal, has traditionally indicated on bright and significant events of the outgoing transporting year which will make essential influence on the year 2013. Artem Skorobogatov in his presentation:

 

• Represented the changes which the Law on Sea Ports and Draft Law on Container Carriage will face,
• Indicated on new opportunities which transport companies will have after ratification of the new Convention between Cyprus and Ukraine,
• Paid the participants’ attention on issues related to ice situation of last year (winter started!) and need in ice clauses in Forwarding/Carriage contracts with cargo owners (including container cargos),
• Due to increase of cargo accidents during sea transportation he recommended to check presence and/or compliance of insurance coverage «Shippers liability» for forwarders and their clients on carriage of liquid, dangerous, outsized cargos etc.

 

This year the culmination of the event The Summary of the Transporting Year was presentation of newly created business association WISTA Ukrainian. Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association was registered in Ukraine quite recently and it is the first National WISTA in CIS countries. Nataliya Myroshnychenko, the president of the association, has presented new opportunity for top business women as regarding to networking and increase in business efficiency. WISTA is really prospective, honourable and very useful.

 

The constant participants were Roman Koloyanov (Maersk Ukraine), Aleksandr Schekin (CMA CGM Ukraine), Aleksandr Lazarev (Sovfracht Sovmortrans UUT), Vadim Tereschuk (HPC Ukraine), Nataliya Cagatiuk (Damko Ukraine Ltd), Maksim Vereschaka (ICT), Oleg Kostiuk (Formag) etc.

 

The most active and the most permanent participant of The Summary of the Transporting Year – Dmitriy Baloban (Alfatrans), Vyacheslav Yazykov (Multistar Chartering Ltd) and Sergey Nazarenko (Dealex Transport) were awarded memorable souvenirs.

 

The hostess for participants of the events was the boutique restaurant Lavinia known by all citizens and guests of Odessa which offered degustation of high-qualitative dry wine from Central Italia in the end of the event.

 

The International Law Offices Interlagal thanks all the participants and hopes that the following transporting year 2013 will bring success and productive work. We wish prosperity and effective work to WISTA Ukraine and the tradition of December meetings of the transport business participants will last for many years.
