MARINE INSURANCE AND LEGAL PRACTICE

The International Law Offices Interlegal took part in the consulting and practicing conference MARINE INSURANCE AND LEGAL PRACTICE IN SETTLEMENT OF MARINE CASUALTIES, organized and held by the Private JSC Crimean Insurance Company on the 1^st of November in Sevastopol.

In the conference work took part the Interlegal partners Artur Nitsevych and Nikolay Melnykov, the associated partner of Interlegal Nataliya Myroshnychenko was there as an invited reporter with the presentation How to settle the disputes effectively: claims and arbitration.

The conference audience included ship owners, directors of shipping companies, experts in insurance business, lawyers in maritime law and all who were interested in methods of settlement of insurance events and claims as well as in modern legal practice of settling the problems arisen in operation on sea vessels (including the arrest of vessels).

The aim of the conference was to examine the modern procedure of making the marine risk insurance contracts, to analyze the problems the insurers and ship owners face during the settlement of losses and claims and to make the effective ways of their settlement. The organizers and the participants consider that they have reached such aim.
