Grain Carriage by Sea: conference in Odessa

On November 6, Interlegal and Kronos Bulkers held the conference “Vital Issues of Grain Carriage by Sea”. The guests were managers of agrarian trade companies, charterers, shipowners and fleet operators, while INTRESCO acted as exclusive sponsor.

In the first part, Peter Sand, BIMCO chief shipping analyst, shared analytical information concerning chartering trends in Mediterranean & Black Sea regions; Andrey Kupchenko, APK-Inform Agency grain market analyst, highlighted the Ukrainian grain export trends; Nikolay Gorbachev, president of the Ukrainian Grain Association, provided comprehensive analysis of export prospects.

In the second part, at the expanded panel discussion experts discussed such issues as sore spots of the Ukrainian harbours, Grain carriage in Black Sea & Sea of Azov regions, Vessel sale & purchase trends, vital tax issues, problems of handling at the roadstead and powers of governmental bodies outside the 12 mile zone.
