Dear friends, colleagues and clients,
Interlegal team is back to active work. Our employees, our clients in Ukraine and worldwide expect this.
We have been doing business for 26 years during constant turbulence; today is high time to apply our skills for renewal and development of the Ukrainian economy (in view of wartime).
Every day, starting from February 24, 2022, the company continues to work:
– our partners and most of employees work daily in volunteer headquarters in Odessa and other cities of Ukraine. You may join us: there is enough work.
– our lawyers continue to provide remotely legal services for our current clients, to conduct arbitration proceedings, to draft legal advice and many others.
– our foreign offices and partners – from the USA to Uzbekistan – actively provide facilities for the Territorial Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as inform about the options for those who had to leave Ukraine. We write about it in our social media channels.
Today, our lawyers work on client cases (mainly) in the following areas:
1. Prospects for Ukrainian exports. Both importers and exporters wish to understand legal aspect of contract performance. We consult clients upon actions in case of delay of goods, disruption of the supply chain, impossibility to perform the contract, upon issues of force majeure under Ukrainian and English law.
2. Recommendations upon foreign legislation. China, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, the Baltic countries, other EU countries are the main directions of customer’s requests. Our lawyers provide legal advice upon registration of companies in the above jurisdictions, upon relocation of business and employees, upon customs and contractual features in these countries, upon issues of temporary import.
3. Traditional shipping issues. Demurrage, problems with cargo documents, inability to leave the Ukrainian sea port, questions from ship crew members, loss reimbursement to ship owners.
4. English law. The English Law Department is actively working on several arbitration disputes in GAFTA, FOSFA, LMAA, representing Ukrainian and foreign clients. In addition, due to the war, many clients need out-of-court settlement of claims and renegotiation of contracts.
We are ready to work actively at the customer’s requests upon these and other issues!
And some good news:
Over 26 years of the company’s history, we have gained perhaps the largest database of content upon these issues. Now it is high time to share thus database. Maybe for someone our information will save the business. In the coming days, we are starting to inform client, both in private communications and in public: what to do in all the situations listed above.
