Association for Aid and Relief Japan is a Japanese non-profit organization carrying out charitable activities for 45 years. In view of difficult times for our country, the charitable organization decided to expand its borders and open a new representative office in Ukraine. Interlegal team, on its part, successfully helped to implement this idea.
Our lawyers provided to the Client full legal support for the procedure of registering such a representative office in accordance with Ukrainian legislation; as the result, representative office was able to start operating in Ukraine.
The registration process included both analysis of existing documents and drafting the new ones in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine on state registration. Interlegal Corporate and Taxes team provided a comprehensive approach that covered drafting statutory documents, interaction with state authorities and full legal support for the Client at each stage of registration.
In the process of launching the project, Ukrainian legislation underwent certain changes. Previously, registration of a foreign non-governmental organization was carried out by the Department of Public Formations at the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. However, on September 3, 2024, these powers were transferred to local registrars, which should simplify the registration procedure in future. Our Client is one of the last to be registered with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
We are pleased to become a part of such a significant project that brings social benefits, promotes civil society development and helps vulnerable groups of the population. Interlegal is still cooperating with international companies and organizations in order to support their activities in Ukraine.
Interlegal team led the project: junior lawyer Oleksandra Savielieva, lawyer Ihor Danyliuk and associate attorney Dmytro Bondar, managed by partner Iryna Voyevodina.
