Interlegal lawyers defended shipowner’s interests under two vessel collisions

The Client – large shipowner applied to Interlegal for settling the collision issue at Giurgiulesti Sea Port.
While the Client’s Vessel stayed at the berth for loading, two other bulker sailing to their berths collided with the Vessel.
For one day, two bulkers owned by different shipowners caused damage to the Client’s Vessel. Interlegal experts detained in Giurgiulesti both vessels accused of collision. Based on justified applications, harbour master prohibited both guilty vessels to leave the port water area for 72 hours.
For that time, guilty shipowners obtained claims on damage recovery. Prompt claim proceedings resulted in reimbursing the Vessel repair cost by both guilty shipowners in proportions, followed by vessel release and leaving the port.
