Interlegal lawyers secured bunker debt recovery and facilitated prohibition for the debtor’s vessel to leave Ukraine

A foreign bunkering company filed a request to Interlegal on debt recovery for bunker supply to the Shipowner.
Since the debtor’s vessel called at the Ukrainian sea port, Interlegal lawyers, with judicial bodies involved, facilitated prohibition for the vessel to leave the port water area and opportunity to initiate and to consider in Ukraine the claim on principal debt and fine recovery for breach of the obligation fulfillment terms.
In the process of claim consideration, the Commercial court agreed with Interlegal lawyers’ opinion, having satisfied the claims in full. For the whole claim consideration period the vessel had to stay in Ukraine, having secured the Ukrainian jurisdiction of the dispute and reliable guarantee for the further award enforcement.
Under the dispute settlement result and positive judicial award, the debtor had to pay the debt without waiting for initiating the enforcement stage.
