Well-coordinated teamwork of Interlegal experts, Ekaterina Gadetskaya, the lawyer, and Andrey Perepelitsa, the senior lawyer, under general supervision of Natalia Myroshnychenko, the associated partner, resulted in preventing ship arrest in one of the Mediterranean ports, due to alleged debt for agency services.
Interlegal experts joined promptly negotiations with the agent, developed strategy of defending shipowner’s interests, drafted the relevant Settlement and Release Agreement and settled the dispute.
Negotiations revealed that the actual indebtedness was threefold less than the claimed amount. Upon debt settlement, the Vessel discharged the cargo and left the port.
Prompt involvement of the lawyers enabled the Clients to avoid losses caused by Vessel idle stay, additional expenses regarding Vessel stay in the port and release the Vessel from the arrest.
