A foreign bunkering company applied to Interlegal for interests protection due to the shipowner’s debt for supplied bunker fuel.
In March 2015 the Client supplied bunker fuel to the shipowner’s vessel at the roadstead of the Turkish port.
The shipowner failed to fulfill promptly its obligations upon payment for fuel supply.
Interlegal lawyers filed to the court a claim on the whole debt recovery and on penal sanctions against the shipowner and managed to prove lawfulness of the Client’s claims. The court satisfied the claim in full and charged the payable amount exceeding 40,000 USD from the debtor in favour of the bunkering company.
Lawyers Vitaliy Tolstik and Karina Gorovaya, under general supervision of Nataliya Myroshnychenko, the associated partner, worked upon the case.
