Interlegal supported vessel re-registration under the Ukrainian flag

At the client’s request, Interlegal re-registered two sea-going vessels under the Ukrainian flag.

Unfortunately, today vessel re-registration within the Ukrainian jurisdiction is a rare case due to complex procedure, long-term execution of documentation and specifications of the Ukrainian law. In particular, in case of re-registration due to changing the Ukrainian bareboat charterer, regulations do not provide simple replacement of Navigation Certificate and Minimum Safe Manning Certificate. The vessel shall be deleted from the register, followed by re-entry, which in fact means three different procedures within the flag administration.
