Chirosca Veronica, the Romanian student, has become Interlegal trainee in the framework of ELSA Student Trainee Exchange Programme.
Veronica, student of the UMFST Romanian University, has become a trainee due to long-term cooperation between Interlegal and the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA). Law department students, university graduates and young lawyers – ELSA current members have an option for trainees.
Veronica said, “Education will never replace the real practice of working at law firm. It was important for me to understand how the processes of rendering legal services to clients take place indeed, how theoretical approaches to law application correspond with daily assistance to clients in complex international cases. I am glad to become a trainee at Interlegal, because international company experience will surely help me in future to be more competitive while choosing a further place for applying my knowledge, both in Romania and throughout Europe”.
Interlegal partner Nikolay Melnykov noted, “To employ a foreign student as a trainee is also a kind of challenge for us. We were interested to see how foreign legal training correlates to our Ukrainian realities. Of course, Veronica’s experience, her theoretical knowledge gained both in Greece and in Romania became also rich grounds for sharing experience with our junior lawyers. In our correspondence with clients, English language prevails due to the firm’s specialization in maritime law and international trade, so Veronica blends in with corporate culture of openness and globality, cultivated in our law firm”.
The European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) is an international, independent, non-political, non-profit making organization run by and for students and recent graduates, who are interested in achieving academic and personal excellence in addition to their legal or law-related studies at university.
