M/V “LACONIC” was arrested in the port of Illyichevsk because of collision

On December 10, 2013, M/V “LACONIC” collided by M/V “PANAGIA STENION” while making a maneuver on the anchorage raid of the port of Yuzhny (Ukraine), thus both Vessels sustained damages. As a result of delay for repair the charter-party of M/V “PANAGIA STENION” was cancelled by the Charterers.
The Owners of M/V “PANAGIA STENION” instructed INTERLEGAL to protect their interests due to the damages, caused by the noted collision and cancellation of the charter-party.
INTERLEGAL claimed against the Owners of M/V “LACONIC” to Illyichevsk city court (Ukraine) and on December 13, 2013 arrested M/V “LACONIC”.
The Parties finally settled this dispute amicably and M/V “LACONIC” was released.
