Interlegal defended the foreign insurance company’s interests

A foreign insurance company applied to Interlegal upon recourse damage recovery due to cargo loss in the process of transportation by road.

Case fabula: the foreign forwarding company engaged in cargo import in Ukraine the automobile carrier registered in Ukraine. The carrier accepted cargo for transportation but failed to deliver it to the ultimate consignee within the prescribed term. With regards to insured forwarder’s responsibility, the insurance company reimbursed losses due to the insurance event.

Interlegal experts collected the required evidence of contractual relationship between all the engaged participants and filed a recourse claim against the carrier to the Ukrainian court. The commercial court satisfied in full the claims on damage recovery in favour of the carrier in the amount exceeding 112 thousand USD.
