Interlegal lawyers supported closing the deal upon tanker sale & purchase in Athens, Greece

Interlegal lawyers successfully supported the deal upon sale & purchase of Aframax tanker registered under the flag of the Marshall Islands.

Interlegal law team represented the Buyer’s interests, namely participated in negotiations with the Seller, drafting the Memorandum of Agreement, issuing all documents required for successful closing the deal, as well as advised the Client upon various issues arising at all the project stages.

In order to make payments, the parties engaged an escrow agent; therefore, they additionally drafted text of escrow services agreement. Since the purchased vessel was pledged by the bank, special attention was drawn to her prompt release from encumbrances.

All the parties to process were preparing to conduct online closing, but at the last moment the parties decided to hold a traditional meeting upon closing the deal, so Interlegal lawyers had to organize very urgently their visit of closing ceremony in the capital of Greece.

Cooperation of Interlegal lawyers and the Client’s representatives facilitated settlement of all discrepancies and disputes arising in the process, as well as problems related to financial transactions, which eventually allowed signing all the necessary documents and finalizing the vessel sale & purchase.

Interlegal lawyers Ganna Liakhova and Mykola Kozachenko led the project.
