The Client – large Ukrainian stevedoring company applied to Interlegal for reimbursement of damages caused by the vessel in the process of cargo operations at the berth, amounting to 230,000 EUR.

Interlegal experts analyzed promptly the Client’s documents, formed their legal position and filed an application on claim security by means of ship arrest with regards to maritime claim.
As soon as the Parties reached a compromise, Interlegal lawyers drafted a trilateral Settlement Agreement to be signed by all the Parties.

Further, Interlegal lawyers filed to the court a petition on leaving unconsidered the application on ship arrest, so the vessel was able to leave freely the port.

Interlegal teamwork facilitated reimbursement of damages in favour of the Client, while the Shipowner did not bear any additional expenses due to possible ship arrest.

Interlegal associate attorney Dmitri Ochkolias and lawyer Nikita Kocherba led the case.
