With regards to the current situation in the sea transportation market, caused by hostilities in Ukraine, many shipowners are looking for new business options. A shipowner applied to Interlegal for legal support in sale & purchase of tanker registered under the Turkish flag.

Interlegal law team promptly joined negotiations on behalf of the Buyer and consulted the Client on all the issues arising at every stage of the deal. Our lawyers drafted Memorandum of Agreement, arranged all the documents necessary for closing the deal, and terms and conditions of the Escrow Agreement since the Parties preferred to involve the Escrow Agent in order to guarantee safety of the deal.

Due to support by Interlegal Turkish office, our lawyers could represent the Purchase and facilitate signing all the documents necessary for closing the deal in Istanbul.

Interlegal teamwork successfully closed the deal, while the Client’s new vessel is in her first voyage now.
