Interlegal at the 1st International Conference “Pulses: Focusing on Maximum Efficiency”

On November 17, 2016, Rinat Gareev, Interlegal corporate manager, and Vasil Todorov, Interlegal business development manager, participated in the First International Conference “Pulses: Focusing on Maximum Efficiency” held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Kiev.

The Conference was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

150 representatives of the Ukrainian leading farming entities and trade companies, FAO UN international organizations, Global Pulse Confederation (GPC), EBRD, leading national and international breeding institutes and experts from Canada, Israel, India and Pakistan participated in the Conference.

The Conference touched the issues of pulse prospects at the global market, role of Ukraine in global pulse supply, trends in demand of key importers, cultivation and processing technologies, logistics specifications and other vital issues.

The Conference was organized by the Public Association “The Community of Pulse Producers and Customers of Ukraine”. Antonina Sklyarenko, President of the Association, states that the Ukrainian farmers aim to increase chickpea, lentil and bean crop areas up to 225-280 thousand hectares by 2020. It will increase both pulse export, inter alia, to small and medium producers and revenue inflow in Ukraine up to 70-100 million USD per year.
