Nautical Institute of Ukraine is 15 years old!
Nautical Institute of Ukraine, the 39th department of the Nautical Institute of the United Kingdom, celebrated its 15th anniversary by holding the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Safe Navigation and the Issues of Maritime Law in view of New Regulations of IMO and ILO Conventions”. This bright event organized by the Nautical Institute of Ukraine, headed by A.A. Nitsevych, the Chairman, V.G. Torskiy, the Honourary and Permanent Secretary, and M.V. Miyusov, Head of the Odessa National Marine Academy, attracted both seamen and all the marine transport industry experts. The Conference was held on October, 16, in the conference hall of the Odessa National Marine Academy – headquarters of the Nautical Institute of Ukraine.
Interlegal participated actively in the Conference and presented two reports. Sergey Kalitenko, senior lawyer of Interlegal, made a presentation «Black Sea of Shame» and highlighted vital problems of old vessels in Black Sea Region in compliance with IMO and ILO Conventions. The second presentation made by Alexey Remeslo, senior lawyer of Interlegal, was called “Legal Aspects of Salvage on the Danube in Compliance with Requirements of IMO and EU Documents”. Remedy Law Firm, longstanding partner of Interlegal, in the person of A.V. Suprunenko, the Director, presented a report “Decrease of the Crewing Companies’ Risks Arising from MLC, 2006”.
Richard Coates, past President of the Nautical Institute of the United Kingdom, congratulated the Nautical Institute of Ukraine with anniversary and presented two reports – “Place and Role of the Nautical Institute of Ukraine in Performing Tasks of the Nautical Institute of the United Kingdom” and “New Requirements for Training DP Operators”. Participants of the Conference listened to 17 reports.
Due to numerous congratulations and videos devoted to anniversary of the Nautical Institute of Ukraine, a festive atmosphere was created while the Conference became a bright event both in Odessa and in the whole Ukraine. Interlegal sincerely congratulates the Nautical Institute of Ukraine with the 15th anniversary and invites all the marine transport industry professionals to join the Nautical Institute of Ukraine.
