Interlegal participated in the Round Table in the framework of the Inter-TRANSPORT Exhibition and Conference

The Round Table “Container Transportation Development Strategy in Ukraine-2015” was held on June 04, 2015, at the Odessa Marine Passenger Terminal Exhibit Hall, in the framework of the “Inter-TRANSPORT” Exhibition and Conference. It was organized by the Container Lines Association of Ukraine under the auspices of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

Representatives of shipping lines, terminal operators, agencies, customs, port authorities and other government institutions participated in the Round Table. Participants of the Round Table had a unique opportunity to discuss face-to-face the most vital problems of container carriage organization in Ukraine and the possible legislative ways of their settlement.

In particular, participants raised issues of improving the free practice procedures at ports of Ukraine, emphasized the need to cancel customs requirements upon cargo document translation, touched challenging tasks upon implementation of the Port Community Information System and proposed certain steps upon passing the present obstacles.

Delegates of the Round Table also discussed peculiarities of Order of the Ministry of Finances of Ukraine on Approval of the Procedure of Customs Formalities in Sea and River Transportation No.308 dd. 10.03.2015, valid from 25.06.2015, and draft amendments to the Procedure of Execution of the Vessel Call at Sea Port, Issuance of Sailing Licenses and Execution of the Vessel Sailing approved by Order of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine No.430 dd. 27.06.2013.

Sergey Sushko and Olena Ptashenchuk, lawyers of Interlegal, participated actively in the Round Table and gave their own comments upon the discussed issues.

Delegates of the Round Table highly appreciated the discussion and expressed their will to improve and to develop container business in Ukraine by joint efforts.
