Protection of the Interests of Ship owners

On September 28th, 2012 at “Courtyard (Mariott) Saint-Petersburg Vasilievsky” Hotel in St.Petersburg the 15th Annual International Seminar “Protection of the Interests of Ship Owners” will take place.

This year the organizers of the Seminar – “Remedy” Law Firm (Saint-Petersburg, Russia) and & ldquo;International Law Offices” Law Firm (Odessa, Ukraine) – titled it as “Ship Owner and Human Element”.

In order to strengthen the attraction of audience to the forthcoming event, the organizers decided to implement some sufficient changes into the core of this Seminar by following the experience they have obtained this June in Odessa at “Practice of Maritime Business. Project Cargoes. Black Sea Region in 2012” Conference, and by giving a floor to various specialists, whose professional background is tightly bound to the work of maritime transport. Within the 15th Seminar lawyers will hold only interactive sections on three topics (i.e. another innovation in such event).

The basic aim of the announced Seminar is the search for variants of improving maritime business by using labor resources correctly. Various specialists – psychologists, physicians, teachers from specialized maritime higher schools, crewing companies, etc. – will share their methodic with the participants, such as: intensification of work and cost decrease at maritime transport, - otherwise stated, the will give advice on how to rise income, considering ageing fleet, increase in fuel prices and decrease in rates of chartering. The attendants will find useful speeches of officials from Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping, Customs, Tax Service and insurance companies.

The arrangers suppose that the seminar will be useful for the heads and specialists from all branches of maritime transport as well as for ship owners and crewing companies, first of all.

• Whether the fault of the insured and their employees are always identical;
• Customs regulations – Q&A;
• News in taxation.
