Interlegal assistance in debt recovery in favour of agricultural exporter for delivered products
The Client – large exporter of agricultural products in Black Sea Region – applied to Interlegal due to non-receiving payment for goods delivered to the Buyer.
The Parties concluded several contracts on grain & oilseed supply. The Seller duly fulfilled its contractual obligations on goods supply, while the Buyer accepted the goods in full but made only partial payment. With reference to low-quality of the goods under on of the contracts, the Buyer retained payment under other contracts too.
Interlegal team analyzed all the documents and facilitated a feasible legal position for the Client’s demand to make payment under all the contracts. Further negotiations resulted in receiving payment by the Client (ca. 100 thousand USD), equal to majority of sum payable for the goods supply.
Since payment was made partially, Interlegal lawyers commenced claims handling procedure. In reply to the claim the Buyer remitted the outstanding amount (30 thousand USD) within two days, having recovered all the debts owed to our Client.
Interlegal English Law Department, namely associate attorney Igor Kostov and lawyer Ganna Liakhova, led the case.
