Interlegal and MTBS (Maritime & Transport Business Solutions), a leading maritime consultancy company from Rotterdam, The Netherlands, have agreed on a strategic partnership related to port and infrastructure projects in Ukraine under a new “MTBS Ukraine” brand.

Both partners have agreed to cooperate in consultancy services for public-private partnership (PPP) projects. As a result, Interlegal’s law competences in the Ukrainian market will be complemented by specific technical and financial expertise from MTBS.

“MTBS Ukraine” will become a new stage in a ten-year partnership between both companies, aimed at delivering high quality performance to many investment projects in the Ukrainian sea ports sector.

Interlegal partner Arthur Nitsevych noted, “We are enthusiastic about the prospects of this cooperation and see all the prerequisites for growth of port investment dynamics. The largest global cargo owners and stevedoring companies are regularly requesting information on entering the Ukrainian market. In order to satisfy this increasing demand for MTBS Ukraine joint services, we are in the process of expanding our port expert staff”.

Currently, Interlegal and MTBS, together with an international consortium, are drafting the feasibility study and tender documentation for the pilot concession tenders at the Olvia and Kherson sea ports.

Paul van Eulem, MTBS director, commented: “In Ukraine, we are engaged in many PPP projects. With the Ukrainian port sector rapidly expanding, there is a large prospective working platform. We provide high-quality services to our clients in all the countries having the MTBS brand. In the process of selecting a reliable and professional partner, Interlegal was a logical choice”.
