Chervonograd Court in Lvov Region is considering the case on natural person’s accusation of crime commitment under Part 5 Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Interlegal is acting as representative of the victim – large international trader.

In mid-2018, the Client filed a request on the following. In January 2018, it left a large amount of soybeans at the elevator for storage, while a month later it took just a small part. As a result, the victim incurred losses amounting to ca. 12 million UAH.

Having initiated criminal case proceedings, Interlegal lawyers immediately faced resistance from law enforcement officers.

Unwillingness to investigate a complex economic case and numerous formal replies – that’s how investigation began. For that purpose, the defense party used formal tricks, trying to confuse the victim’s representative and play for time.

As a result, Interlegal law team conducted their own investigation, making a chronology of events and documenting the fact of grain theft.

Due to joint efforts with the Client’s team, we managed to carry out a competent inventory, serving as grounds for expertise which formed the basis of accusations of property theft.

Finally, having overcome resistance of law enforcement officers, we facilitate submission of the indictment against elevator officials to the court.

Now, while business entity is waiting for fair retribution against unscrupulous counteragents, there is nowhere to retreat – and we will do all the best in order to protect our Client’s interests.

Interlegal associate attorney Andrii Kaftanov, managed by senior associate Ellina Romanova, led the case.
