Interlegal lawyers won LMAA arbitration amounting to 460 thousand USD

A foreign company – ship manager and time charterer applied to Interlegal upon the dispute with vessel owner concerning refund of fleet financing amounts. Previously manager financed fleet at the shipowner’s request.

London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) considered the dispute. Due to thorough analysis of legal relations, case materials, jointly with drafting correct strategy and legal position, Interlegal lawyers combined claims under the agreements regarding several vessels in the single case proceedings.

As the result, arbitration court confirmed lawfulness of claims and made an award in favour of the Client, while the Defendant had to reimburse 460 thousand USD in favour of the manager.
