In the week of January 27th 2019, MTBS together with Portbase and Interlegal provided a port training course for the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA). The training was requested and funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine and was conducted at the USPA branch office in Odessa.

The training modules covered several key aspects of the port business, including:

  • Port Finance and Tariffs;
  • Port Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Models;
  • Port Concessions and Tender Processes; and,
  • The Maritime Single Window (MSW).

At the end of each port training module, the trainers and USPA handed out Certificates of Attendance to each of the participants.

On the final day of the program, a representative of the Dutch Embassy was also present to finalize and conclude on the result of the training. Furthermore, a briefing was organised to inform the Ukrainian press on the results achieved.

We would like to thank the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for providing us with the opportunity to cooperate with Portbase and Interlegal in helping to build knowledge capacity amongst Ukrainian port professionals.
