Another Shipping and Trade Day online conference was held on December, 7. This annual event for traders and shippers Interlegal run jointly with our reliable partners Black Sea Institute of Maritime and Trade Law.
At Shipping and Trade Day 20223 we tried to give a Big Picture of the current state of turbulent Ukrainian grain export & logistics markets.
We observed fluctuations and dynamics of the Ukrainian grain export since the onset of the russian invasion up to the current day. Our discussions covered specific market trends, important export destinations, bottlenecks in supply chains and significant efforts of Ukrainian farmers, trade and shipping businesses in overcoming the everyday war challenges. Much attention was drawn also to the situation on the freight market.
Our legal experts shared their experience of working upon issues related to blockade of the vessels in the Ukrainian sea ports.
– Could the blocked vessels have departed from the ports and leave Ukraine?
– Could we treat them as lost and warranting the insurance?
– What legal measures should be taken in the case if vessel and cargo get damage caused by mines placed at the entrance channel?
Now participants can get the clear answer to all these questions!
Speakers did not leave unattended also the questions of functioning the Ukrainian grain Corridor, specifications of operations and work regime in ports, potential risk and restrictions at wartime period along with guarantees, security and protective measures for ships. And, of course, compliance with international sanctions imposed on legal entities and natural persons from the russian federation.
It should be noted that Ukrainian agrarians, shippers and traders are fully persuaded that Ukraine will maintain its agricultural and export potential even during the war, when we face reductions in sown areas, shortage of cash, fertilizers and technologies and lots of other challenges. Such confidence inspires optimism for the whole market.
Both grain trade and shipping will be a keystone of the economic recovery and further Ukrainian sustainable growth far into the future. We believe that the insights shared at Shipping and Trade Day will greatly benefit our attendees and we are excited to see the positive impact that it will have on our industry.
We are deeply grateful for being the heartbeat of our event to our remarkable moderators and speakers Mykola Gorbachov, Karyna Gorovaya, Pavel Svertilov, Gennadiy Ivanov, Arthur Nitsevych, Alexey Remeslo.
Once again, a huge thanks to everyone who took the time to join us online and contributed towards the discussion. We truly appreciate your involvement, and we are looking forward to meet you at the Shipping and Trade Day 2024!
